Having just spent seven amazing days riding with you both in the Dolomites I felt compelled to write to you as soon as I found a little spare time.
I can't express how much I enjoyed my first experience of cycling abroad thanks to you and the incredible service you provide. Your genuine unwavering commitment to ensuring that every aspect of our trip was the best it could be has left a lasting impression and I will without doubt be booking another trip with you next year.
The cycle routes, lunch stops, hotels and restaurants were just fantastic, the research and trouble you have gone to in hand picking them all is testament to how you go the extra mile for your clients, although I felt we were treated more like friends than clients.
Jean-Phillippe's riding knowledge, fatherly advice and encouragement on the climbs was invaluable just as Yumi's truly unwavering dedication to keeping us all fully fed and hydrated with an unending supply of delicious energy treats was too, and all done with big warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm.
I can't thank you both enough for all you did and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

My husband and I decided to pay a return visit to France after a whirlwind 2011 Tour de France cycling tour in the Alps region. Immediately, what we read about the Pyrenees appealed to us — the more 'wild' landscape and back road approach that Jean-Philippe offered was what we sought. On the strength of the testimonials at his site, we booked and trained.
The ongoing contact with Jean-Philippe was very helpful. At all times he was able to answer questions or assist in the hiring of bikes. Our first meeting in France confirmed our impressions — Jean-Philippe is a first rate guide. Genuine, thoughtful, highly skilled and adept at meeting the changing conditions of the weather and roads, he made the daunting trip stress-free and enjoyable for his charges.
We travelled through the most beautiful and scenic landscape we have ever seen. Despite missing the fine spring weather by days, we cycled comfortably in quiet, seemingly forgotten valleys and climbed incredible mountains with only cows and donkeys for company. The hospitality in the accommodation Jean-Philippe booked for us was warm, the food outrageously delicious.
My husband and I arrived with very different levels of fitness. My approach is rather 'slow and steady' and Jean-Philippe negotiated our differences in a tactful and supportive manner. He encouraged us when we were finding the ride mentally or physically overwhelming, ready for a chat to take our minds of the grind. Jean-Philippe's uncanny ability to find delicious crepes and omelettes in out-of-the-way places often lifted our wavering morale.
I would not hesitate to recommend Jean-Philippe's cycling tours to people who are ready for a challenge. His intimate familiarity with the area made our journey from Australia reassuringly possible. I also found that his stories and knowledge of the district and cycling in general enriched our stay enormously. I hope we can cycle together one day soon!
We have just returned from an eight-day cycling tour in the alpine region around Mount Blanc with VéloTopo.
Our private tour was designed around our wishes and expertly guided by Jean-Philippe, Yumi and crew.
Their attention to detail; cycling routes, van support, hotels and of course, the amazing food, is truly at the highest level.
This is our second tour with this fantastic company and we will return for another adventure for sure!

After an outstanding tour of Provence and ascent of Mont Ventoux last year, we returned to join Jean-Philippe and Yumi for an extraordinary cycling adventure in beautiful Corsica this April.
Once again, they did an outstanding job of guiding us on routes that were challenging and breathtaking!
It is a testament to their love of cycling and travel that they are so adept at guiding us on adventures that will last us a lifetime!

Cycling the Pyrenees was great—wonderful roads and only a few brutal kilometers over eight days.
The itineraries were better than I expected given we were doing so many passes. It was terrific having some rides that were scenic back roads without famous passes.
The food was much better than other trips I had done with other operators in mountain areas like the Alps and Dolomites. It was actually a highlight.
I think it doesn't matter what trip you do with J-Philippe it will be the best trip you can do.
THE BEST! Really of all the Backroads, Ciclismo Classico, etc trips I've done this one for the support and all, was the best ever!
Yet another excellent tour with Velotopo. Jean Philippe and Yumi have thought of, and planned absolutely everything to ensure everyone of all abilities has an outstanding holiday.
I have been on 5 VéloTopo bike tours now in 3 different countries - No one does it better. Just book it!

Approximately 12 months ago, a small number of cyclists and their partners from Australia decided to embark on a cycling adventure in France and witness one of the greatest sporting events in the world — the 100th running of the Tour de France. Our group also wanted to take on the challenge of conquering some of the greatest mountain cycling challenges in the Pyrenees and Bordeaux regions.
Initially the group intended to use a bike tour company in Australia, however, a local bike shop in Brisbane suggested we contact Jean-Philippe from "VéloTopo — Best of the Pyrenees". Our initial query was promptly answered and Jean-Philippe posed numerous questions for the group. In a very short period of time, we were provided with a very concise, professional and informative suggested itinerary that catered for everyone's requirements, desires and needs.
I personally looked forward to a 10-day cycling adventure that embraced the famous Tour de France rides and also catered for my wife's love of food, shopping, culture and spectacular scenery. Unfortunately due to a health concern, I was advised by my doctor that I would not be able to ride 3 days prior to the trip. This was obviously devastating news but I still looked forward to our long awaited trip.
From my first contact, I found Jean-Philippe and his wife Yumi an extremely warm and welcoming couple. They were both very considerate and empathetic to my personal situation and assured me that the trip would be wonderful. They were not wrong. Both Jean-Philippe and Yumi are truly fascinating people who have lived a very full and exciting life. Their general knowledge is exceptional, their stories captivating and their attention to detail is first class. They constantly ensure all guests, both cyclist and non cyclist are happy and well catered for.
I would encourage all cyclists with non-cyclists in their group who are considering traveling to France, Italy, Switzerland or Spain to contact Jean-Philippe and Yumi at "VéloTopo". I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. I also look forward to using this company in the next 12 to 18 months so I can fulfill my biking dreams.

Jean-Philippe and Yumi who run VeloTopo are simply the best for organising your bespoke bike tour anywhere in the Alps, Pyrenees or Corsica.
The Provence training camp was my sixth trip with VeloTopo in as many years which should speak for itself. However their attention to detail is second to none and they are such delightful hosts. I cannot recommend them enough.
